The real thing could be seen at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
Our spies have been watching the next-generation BMW 3 Series for over two and a quarter years, taking into consideration that our first set of images was published in January 2016, when Motor1.com was still available. WorldCarFans was also around. We found the latest photos on the World Wide Web about one month ago. We decided to use them by trying to imagine what was hidden underneath the thin camouflage that the prototype wore.
If you aren’t a diehard BMW enthusiast, you won’t notice that our rendering is a speculation of the seventh-generation 3 Series. We have a lot of spy images that we have shared recently, which has allowed us to see that the styling won’t be significantly different from the previous model. This is not surprising considering that almost all automakers have chosen to go the evolutionary route. There are exceptions to this rule. The Volvo S60, which is a direct 3 Series competitor, was recently launched and looks very different from its predecessor.
The real thing will have sexier headlights and a larger corporate kidney grille. Hopefully, the 8 Series’ great looks will be reflected in the sports sedan. We are aware that the 3 Series’ design was completed long before the 8 Series revival, but we hope for similar design elements between the two models, as BMW is changing its design language.
Although the exterior styling will remain the same, the car will still look similar to the F30. The CLAR platform, which is used by the larger brothers, will allow for a substantial weight loss. However, a bigger cabin and increased cargo capacity will be possible with the CLAR platform.
According to a February rumor, the engine lineup could have been leaked. An M340i xDrive, which has 380 horsepower, is the most anticipated launch model. A new M3 is in development. It will reportedly include a new “S58”, engine that will debut in the X3 M. It will be 475 hp.
If BMW decides to bring the 3 Series Sedan on October’s Paris Motor Show, it could mean that an online unveiling will take place as soon as September.
