Blasphemy, or a great idea?
After making the new BMW Z4 a more practical shooting brake, and then a sleek coupe model, X-Tomi Design decided to keep the original roadster form while giving it a facelift. It’s safe to say that mashups in automotive are rarely successful, regardless of whether the cars come from the same manufacturer or different brands. This one is a bit different. Even though two BMWs and one Suzuki were combined into the Photoshop blender, it produced a very nice result.
We like to call the BMW Swift Sport what happens when the hot hatch and roadster go on a date and eventually have a child. It is 70% Z4 and 30% Swift Sport. Bavaria’s new Droptop has the supermini’s headlights and bumpers as well as side skirts and mirror caps.
It is quite a surprise to see two completely different models from two different companies merge into one attractive car. This mashup shows that even though they don’t have much in common, it is possible to create a pleasing fusion of their design language in the virtual world.
We would love to see the Z4 rendering craze continue. Some people believe the two models look similar when viewed from front.
