The sixth-gen Camaro receives a refresh three years after its introduction.
A new Chevrolet Camaro is on its way to dealers. Today, Chevy revealed the 2019 Camaro. This marks the first visual refreshment for the sixth-generation vehicle. There are many equipment and mechanical improvements, including the introduction of a hyper-stylized Turbo version. The 2019 Camaro is different from all angles. This is evident from the beginning. Scroll down to see before-and-after photos of the car’s transformation. We want to know what you think about the new design.
Front Three-Quarter (Coupe)
It’s obvious from the front that Chevrolet has completely redesigned the Camaro’s front fascia. The black grille extends across the entire width of the Camaro’s front fascia, with fewer interruptions. However, the bar that runs along it isn’t a curving, almost smile-like, shape. New colors and lighting designs are also on the horizon. Chevrolet claims that the new grille will deliver more cooling and inlet-air to the Camaro engines. It also reduces aerodynamic lift. The “Flowtie”, cut-out badge on SS models powered by the 6.2-liter V8 engines, aids in air intake.
Front
The 2019 Camaro SS’s nose is revealed. The SS model’s fascia is distinctive, featuring special headlights and a gloss-black grille. There is also a vented hood that aids cooling and aero performance. Special air curtains are placed around the corners to increase downforce and minimize drag. Chevrolet states that “Camaro designers adhere to the mantra that all elements must be beautiful and enhance performance.”
Front Three-Quarter (Convertible)
These same changes are carried over to the 2019 Camaro coupe, which, like the coupe, now sports a modern, sleeker front end. Although the exterior lower air intakes have been reshaped, the overall design of the convertible is very similar to the 2016-2018 model. The hood and LED headlights have been updated, just like the coupe. (Note: The 2018 Camaro SS convertible will be compared to the 2019 Camaro RS.
Rear Three-Quarter
There are subtler changes at the back of the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, with new fascias as well as new LED taillights. The RS and SS have specific rear diffusers that match their optional dual mode exhausts. ZL1 and SS variants have dark-tinted taillights. There are also new 20-inch wheels for the Camaro RS or SS.
Interior
Chevy hasn’t yet provided any photos of the interior of the new Camaro – , though spy photographers have seen it. We know that there are important changes coming: A Rear Camera Mirror will be available as an option. The standard backup camera will have an improved image quality. The 7-inch and 8-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment systems have new software. Ambient lighting will also have different colors.
