These stylistic changes are not as dramatic on camera.
Chevy presented a new Camaro last Monday for the 2019, model year. The Camaro’s front and rear fascias were the most important changes. They give it a more aggressive look than the previous model. A 2019 Camaro SS was unveiled to the public less than a week later. It appeared at what appears to be a morning car club. The Michigan manufacturer plate suggests that it is more likely to be a GM engineer behind this car.
The quickvideoshows both the newly designed front and rear. Nearly all of the front ends are new. New LEDs have been added to the headlights. Redesigned upper and lower grilles have been added to the SS model. This allows for increased airflow. Camaro’s front end has been designed to provide better airflow angles and improve overall airflow.
Rear: Less noticeable are the differences to the previous model. . Along with an updated design for the rear taillights (now smoked), the lower rear valence gets a slight refresh from the SS. These changes make the Camaro’s rear end look cleaner and more athletic. The 2018 Camaro SS has a 10-speed automatic transmission with custom launch control, line lock and other mechanical improvements. There are no word yet on whether the car will gain any performance.
The biggest changes to the Camaro lineup are obvious and visible. Chevy has added a new trim, the 1LE turbocharged four-cylinder. The engine is identical to the standard Camaro’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine. It produces 275 horses (205kilowatts) as well as 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters). However, it has some tweaks. The trim comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The 1LE trim adds a tuned suspension and a nearly 50/50 weight balance. It also has new Track Mode or Competition Mode settings that allow for performance readouts, launch control, shift point lights, and other features such as performance and launch control.
The changes appear extreme in Chevy’s press photos. The changes appear much more subtle in the video. Camaro SS’s front ends don’t look too radical or too angular. The video shows how important it is for people to view a car outdoors in natural light before judging its appearance.
