2019 Ford F-150 gets nearly $9k discount, but there's a catch

You could score a great deal if you choose a model or package.

America’s pick-up trucks are the kings of the road. Pickup trucks have become very expensive in recent years. We mean very costly. Although there are only a few packages that can be used to get a new truck, it is not uncommon for them to cost $50,000. However, big-time factory incentives often reduce the price by thousands of dollars. Chevrolet, Ram were battling it out in the incentives department all year. But Ford has now joined the fray. A new report by Ford Authority shows that the automaker is willing to cut nearly $9,000 off certain F-150 models. It’s not a simple deduction, but a combination that can add up. A $8,750 cumulative discount on the 2019 F-150 XLT is the big deal right now. This includes a $6500 cash back deal and a $750 Ford Credit bonus. There’s also a $1,500 trade assistance. This applies only to XLT models equipped with the 302A package. It is a $4345 add-on which includes remote start, power heated front seats, and the XLT chrome appearance package. The 302A package can only be obtained by purchasing a Supercab with a 6.5-foot bed. It is available in a standard-issue engine of a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower. If you choose two-wheel drive, the estimated cost will be $41,905 before discounts.

Ford Authority offers a variety of incentives for F-Series trucks but none as lucrative as this. It’s also a new deal. We were not able to find similar incentives on Ford’s website in Detroit. While the Blue Oval is still a strong competitor, F-Series sales have seen a slight decline in the past quarter. This could indicate that Ford feels a little heat to keep trucks off dealer lots until the all-new F-150 arrives next spring.
