2019 Ford F-250 Speed, Braking, and Stability Tested

The big diesel truck is incredibly stable for maneuvers at high speed and low speeds.

Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds released a speed test video. It’s a 2019 Ford F-250 instead of the supercars you’re used to seeing.

Although the weather conditions were not ideal for testing, Johnny Bohmer was able to test the truck’s ability in wet and dry conditions. Bohmer is a true professional when it comes to testing vehicles.

The Ford F-250’s 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 is rated at 450 horsepower, and an incredible 935 lb/ft torque. This is enough power to get the truck to 60 mph in just 7.53 seconds using two-wheel drive. You can reach 60 MPH in just 7.44 seconds with 4WD.

Bohmer continues to test the truck’s top speed. It is 96 miles an hour. Although it may not seem like much, it is more than enough to haul a tow truck. Surprisingly the cruise control works at this speed.

Bohmer was impressed by the F-250’s braking performance. The braking performance was acceptable even in wet conditions. The truck’s stability during the “moose test”, which is performed at 35 MPH, impressed him. He’s still impressed with the Ford pickup’s performance, even when he increases the speed to 45 MPH.

Johnny Bohmer, after all the testing, reports that the truck didn’t break a sweat. The engine was never overheated and Bohmer was enjoying the cabin’s ice-cold air conditioning during the majority of testing.

These tests of ordinary cars and trucks are just as enjoyable as the hypercars and supercars. We are excited to see the next test that the channel uploads.
