The new model year brings rev-matching technology and a 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen soundsystem.
Ford has resurrected the “Bullitt name” for a special edition. The “California Special”, which will be making a comeback for 2019, is also being revived. The pony car’s original badge was introduced in 1968. It was inspired by the 1967 Shelby GT coupe prototype. A new GT-based model is now available for purchase at dealerships.
Retro-inspired special editions pay tribute to their ancestor with the same blacked out front grille, side graphics, and Ebony Black and Race Red script California Special badges on the trunk lid. The model’s exclusive five-spoke machined wheels are painted in a model-exclusive color and it borrows the Mustang Performance Pack 1 splitter. Additionally, the stick-on faux rear bumper scoop is reserved for this model.
The 2019 Mustang California Special is distinguished by its GT/CS embossing on black suede seats with red contrast stitching. Ford will include GT/CS-branded floormats and additional fancy badges on the dashboard.
The 2019 Mustang GT will feature rev-matching technology. This technology is also available for its naturally aspirated V8 of 5.0-liters, which produces 460 horsepower and 420 pounds-feet (570 Newton meters) of torque.
The 2018 Mustang GT features the driver-controllable active vale performance exhaust. It is also available on the Mustang EcoBoost models. You can alter the sound depending on which drive mode you choose, or by playing with MyMode settings via either the 12-inch instrument panel (or the standard 4.2 inch cluster).
The Bang & Olufsen Play system, which was seen last week on the European-spec Mustang Bullitt is now available in the U.S-spec 2019 Mustang. It features 12 speakers, 1,000-watt power and a 10-channel amplifier.
The Bullitt’s Dark Highland Green and Need for Green round out the new additions to the color palette.
Ford will be selling the 2019 Mustang this summer. Pricing for the new goodies will be announced closer to launch.
