This is your first opportunity to see the truck without the larger passenger compartment.
Additional variants of the GMC Sierra 1500 are now available. This is the latest SLE variant and it shows the Double Cab body.
This truck’s camouflage is limited to a small area on the front fender which conceals the powertrain badge. It is an excellent opportunity to see this basic trim. This model’s grille, for example, is simpler than the AT4 or Denali versions. The test mule’s rear bumper is simple and chrome, with a single exhaust. This one’s wheels are much smaller than those on the Denali or SLT, which measure 22 inches.
This test mule’s Double Cab body has four doors. However, the doors in the rear of the pickup are shorter than those on the Crew Cab version. Double Cab is a great option for people who don’t need to carry passengers in the back. It generally costs less than the Crew Cab.
There are likely to be more Sierra models in development before the pickup goes on sale this autumn. GMC has confirmed the availability of the range-topping Denali and SLT versions, as well as offroad-ready versions. Spy shots also confirm the existence of the Crew Cab (gallery atop) and Elevation Edition.
The Sierra 1500 will launch with at least two engines. The 5.3-liter V8 is capable of producing 355 horsepower (265 Kilowatts) as well as 383 pound-feet (519 Newton meters) of torque. A 6.2-liter V8 can produce 420 hp (313kW) and 624 lb-ft (624Nm). The 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six turbodiesel will be an option. There is also the possibility of a Chevrolet Silverado’s 2.7-liter turbocharged four cylinder with 348 lbft (472Nm) and 310 horsepower (231 kW).
