Base SE experiences a slight increase of $150

Hyundai updated the Elantra’s design last month with a strong focus on triangles. However, the automaker did not announce pricing. The SE entry-level model will be priced at $17,100, including the six-speed manual transmission. This is a $150 increase over the previous model. The SEL model, which is the most popular, comes with Hyundai SmartSense, the company’s safety suite. It costs $19,400. This is a mere $550 increase.

The refreshed design of the 2016 model is more aggressive and angular. It features several new body panels, including the grille, headlights and grille. The sedan received interior and exterior design updates along with more technology. However, the powertrains remained unchanged.

The SE’s six-speed automatic transmission can be added to increase the price by $1,000 to $18,100. The Value trim starts at $20,000. The Eco trim comes with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, seven-speed dual-clutch auto transmission and starts at $20,000. The Limited trim is subject to a $500 price hike, rising from $22,100 in 2018 to $22,600 in 2019. The Elantra Sport, the most expensive trim, is available with either a 6-speed manual or even speed dual-clutch. It costs $22,400 and $23,500 for 2019, respectively.

The same 2.0-liter engine produces power for the SE, Limited and SEL trims. It is 147 horsepower. The turbocharged 1.4 liter engine generates 128 horsepower. The Elantra Sport will be revealed later in the year, even though the powertrain is unchanged for 2019. The Elantra Sport will be powered by the same turbocharged turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 201 horsepower.

Hyundai SmartSense is the best value for money, making the Elantra SEL the most affordable. This safety suite includes forward-collision avoidance and lane-keep assistance, as well as driver attention alert. The Limited trim includes forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and Safe Exit Assist. This alerts drivers when the door is opened. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are two options for safety equipment.

The Elantra sedan is stylish and offers many features. The base SE trim comes with a rearview camera, five-inch color screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls for just $17,100. This sounds great.
