2019 Lexus E350 Gets $550 Price Boost, Starting At $39,500

Lexus presented the 2019 ES at the Beijing Motor Show in April, highlighting its New Global Architecture K platform, updated styling and performance specifications for the ES 350. Although the large sedan borrows many styling cues form the and , its sleek, sporty design does not translate well to its performance. The Lexus EX luxury sedan is quiet and capable despite its mismatched characteristics. The 2019 Lexus ES will be available for purchase in the next month. However, before the sedan is delivered to dealerships, the automaker released pricing information and fuel economy information.

The entry-level Lexus ES 350 is priced at $39,500. All prices exclude the $1,025 delivery, processing and handling fee. This is $550 more than the previous model. Under the hood, the ES 350 has a 3.5-liter V6 motor that produces 302 horsepower and 276 poundfeet of torque. Even with the 19 hp increase and 34 lbft more torque than the 2018 models, the ES 350 still achieves an EPA-rated fuel efficiency of 22 MPG in the city, 33 MPG highway and 26 MPG combined. This is a two-mpg improvement in combined fuel economy. The eight-speed automatic transmission directs power to the front wheels.

Lexus also announced the fuel economy of the ES350h hybrid. The sedan achieves 43 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway and 44 mpg when combined. Lexus calls it the “most fuel-efficient luxury vehicle” and a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine that produces 215 horsepower. The ES 350h starts at $41,310 and has a $510 price drop compared to its predecessor.

The ES 350 F Sport is new for 2019. The sedan gets a tuned suspension, unique interior trim and 19-inch tires. Although there’s no more power, the F Sport has enhanced styling that raises its price above the standard ES 350. The F Sport is priced at $44,035 and returns 22 mpg in the city, 31 highway, and 25 combined. In September, the 2019 Lexus ES will begin arriving at dealers. The Lexus ES is a luxurious sedan packed with technology.
