The Mercedes-Benz hides well. Our spy photographers captured numerous prototypes of the SUV on road in both standard trims and hot 53 or 63 guises. Our rendering artists, however, have taken a scientific approach to help us understand the final product.

This is how the new Mercedes-Benz GLE might look when it debuts in a matter of months. The camouflage from all the previous prototypes is gone, and the SUV’s appeal is revealed. It borrows cues form models such as the GLA, GLC, and the .

Front fascia now features a larger grille. Panamericana treatment will be available on AMG 56 models. The rendering also shows new wheels, sharper fog light fixtures and smoother headlights. We still have a lot to learn about the design of the new GLE, especially the rear. However, we will be able to see the final product soon enough.

2019 Mercedes GLE Ditches Camo In New Rendering

The new Mercedes GLE will be available before the end or in the early part of 2019. The standard model will feature the same mild-hybrid inline-six turbocharged engine as the E Class. It produces 362 horsepower (269kilowatts) as well as 369 pound-feet (369 Newton-meters) of torque. The engine also generates 21 hp (15.kW) and 249 lb-ft (249Nm) from an electric motor.

The hot-to-go AMG models won’t arrive until late 2019 or early 2020. The GLE 53 could be the first to arrive and come with the same hybrid six-speed transmission, while the GLE 63, which is more powerful, should receive a powerful V8.
