What could be better than a Porsche 911 virtually camo-free? Two of them!
The highly anticipated unveiling of the next-generation 911 is getting closer, considering that these two prototypes had very little camouflage while being tested out in the open. Porsche added black tape to the front spoiler lip and the sleek taillights, reminding us all of the Taycan. It may not look like it, but the stickers were placed on the headlights of both test cars to conceal the actual design. However, we can clearly see the familiar four-point LED system.
The design isn’t much of a surprise since nobody expected the 911 to be a fashion icon for the 992 generation. In the above image, you can see the blue prototype without the left turn signal on. The LED strip at its back is visible going up towards the corner. The license plate holder is now lower and flanked by two exhaust tips. These might be from the Carrera 4S / Carrera S, but it’s hard to say.
The red-hot prototype will be the first to show you the practical, but ungainly rear wiper that very few people will ever use. Porsche chose to cover the handles on the doors, while these are visible on the blue car. The red car has quad exhaust tips that are larger than the blue one. The size of the tires on the Pirelli P Zero rubbers for the blue car is not visible, but the red car has 21-inch wheels and wide 305/30 ZR tires at its back.
Porsche needs to release the first images for the 992. We already have some images of the 992 that we published in February, when it was previewed. The first version will likely be on display at the Paris Motor Show in October. Porsche is known for bringing a variety of derivatives, including at least one plug in hybrid, over the next few years.
