The all-new Ram 1500 is here.
The all-new RAM 1500 is here, just days before you are supposed to. The new pickup was spotted on the FCA factory floor and uploaded by a Reddit user. It shows off the updated front fascia and almost complete new body.
We have seen the Ram 1500’s new, angular grille before. Spy photos were taken earlier this month and showed the front end of the full-size pickup. It featured the hexagonal grille with integrated headlights. The new image gives us a better idea of how the new grille will fit into the large new body.
The new Ram retains its truck-friendly styling by using a lot of chrome detailing on the front, not only in the grille, but also in accenting pieces below and above it. These same chrome details are carried over to badges, side mirrors and wheels. However, we don’t expect every trim level to adopt the same style.
The spy photos from the past show a Ram version that has replaced many chrome details with blacked-out accents. These images show a version with black detailing on the grille and the accenting piece directly above it. Only one chrome detail remains on the side mirrors.
Although the new image is very telling, details about Ram’s new 1500 will not be revealed until the vehicle takes to the road in Detroit. The pickup will be available for purchase in V6 or V8 gasoline-powered versions, although rumours suggest that a turbocharged four cylinder hybrid model might also be offered.
The 2019 Ram 1500 will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (Detroit) later this week. It will then go on sale in the second half 2018. Pricing information is still unknown.
