You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable just because you’re off-roading. Ram has made this possible by the new 2019 Ram 1500 rebel 12 special edition. This version loads the interior with amenities and maintains the truck’s rugged capabilities.
Jim Morrison, Head Ram Brand, stated in the model’s announcement that “customers have been asking us for additional high-end feature on Rebel and now, we’re delivering with benchmark technologies and materials wrapped in offroad capability.”
The most significant upgrade is the addition of a 12-inch infotainment screen with navigation instead of the 8.4-inch display on the Rebel. It can be paired with Harman Kardon stereos with 19 speakers, a subwoofer of 10 inches, active noise cancellation, and a 900-watt amplifier.
The Rebel 12 offers opulent surroundings including heated front seats and leather upholstery. Radar Red anodized finishes are used on the metal speaker grilles.
All standard models have the Rebel 12 edition available in cab, color and powertrain configurations. Standard equipment includes a mild-hybrid, 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower. It also generates 269 lb-ft of torque. You can choose to upgrade to a 5.7 liter V8 that produces 395 horsepower and 410 lbft, or a mild hybrid version with the same output but better efficiency. All models come with an eight-speed auto.
The Rebel is equipped with a four-wheel drive system, and an electronic locking rear differential. This gives it better off-road capability. The tires on the truck are 33-inch Wrangler DuraTrac. Skid plates prevent the mechanicals from being scraped against the terrain. Standard Bilstein shocks come as standard. However, there is an option for height-adjustable suspension.
The price for the special edition is $46,990, while $44,695 goes to the standard Rebel. The Rebel 12 will go on sale in the fourth trimester of 2018.
