2019 Ram 1500 Rebel Hellcat Hits the Drag Strip, But Breaks

Although this truck appears straight out of the factory, there are still many things to be done.

It is still a secret that the Hellcat-powered Ram Rebel is coming to you, but it is not yet known when. The builder doesn’t have the patience to wait for the real deal, so they now have a Hellcat-powered Ram. FCA will be able to place one on the road.

The RebHell, as the clip says, looks straight out of the factory. The truck’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is under the hood. A subtle body kit gives it wider fenders to cover larger wheels with off-road tires. A new radiator and oil cooler ensure that nothing gets too hot. The intake is able to breathe through both a hole in its grille and through a vent under the hood. It is still a relatively recent build and needs more powertrain tuning. The truck was running 13.24 seconds on the drag strip. This is a great time considering it is on off-road tires. It makes a lot of noise with its supercharged V8.

However, the drivetrain system still needs work. The Ram’s rear axle is broken during a burnout, and the front snaps under acceleration. Evidently, the Hellcat is too powerful to handle the stock components. RebHell will next install Dana 60 axles that are stronger. According to spy photos (above), Rebel TRX may have more than the Hellcat engine. Rumours claim the truck has ARB air lockers on both axles and dual Bilstein shocks at every corner. It also has a higher ride height and better brakes. According to current speculation, the truck will debut in 2021.
