It features “the largest screens in the segment.”
Renault will now unveil its compact model after the teaser video last week. The French company decided to stage the debut, and today’s photos are the first images of the interior.
The cabin, which is quite a departure from the previous model, features an upscale design and advanced technologies. These photos show a higher-spec model that features a vertical tablet-style infotainment display which dominates the center console. It boasts the “largest screen in its segment” and features “modern ergonomics that allow for an immersive driving experience.”
Below the screen are buttons that can be used to control various functions such as heated seats, parking sensors and door locks. A second important innovation is the inclusion of a fully digital instrument cluster that can be customized with a configurable layout.
Another bank of buttons is left on the steering wheel. These are likely for the electronic safety or assistant systems. Renault proudly claims that the cockpit materials will be better quality, with a soft coating on the dashboard and door panels as well as the surround of the central console.
Laurens van den Acker (Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Renault), explains the importance of the Clio to the company. The Clio is a symbol, with the most recent features being the best from the previous generations. Interior design has seen a significant improvement in quality, sophistication and technology. This Clio is undoubtedly the most beautiful.
Renault will reveal the exterior of the Clio tomorrow (January 29) and provide technical information. So stay tuned.
