This concept is a reminder of the fact that Samsung makes cars.
Although the press release below might start with “world premiere,” the XM3 Inspire is essentially a rebadged model of another concept. This is the Renault Arkana, which was introduced in August 2018 at Moscow International Auto Salon in Russia. This not-so new showcar marks the South Korean debut for the coupe-SUV mashup. Although there are subtle differences, it is 99 percent the same.
Because it is a different marque, the XM3 Inspire does not have Renault’s diamond logo. It is a Samsung-branded concept. This is not Samsung Electronics, which is well-known for its Galaxy range of smartphones. Although the automaker was founded in 1994, it didn’t start selling cars until 1998. It was a subsidiary of General Motors two years later. Renault subsidiary, hence “Renault Samsung Motors”, the company’s official moniker.
The new XM3 Inspire will be similar to the Arkana. The new XM3 Inspire will be manufactured at South Korea’s Busan factory. It will only be available for local customers in the first half 2020. This coupe- SUV thingy was unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show in concept form. It will be joined by a variety of other KDM-spec models. These include SM-badged sedans closely related to Renault and the QM6 mid-sized SUV.
The XM3Inspire, as it was with the Arkana appears almost ready to go on the assembly line. This means that the final product will likely look nearly identical.
The concept will remain on display at the Seoul Motor Show, South Korea, until April 7, where it will be exhibited.
