2020 Audi A4 Facelift Could Be As Real As The Real Deal

These changes are subtle, but they are elegant.

Audi has just updated its Euro-spec A4 sedan for 2019, but it was the smallest vehicle upgrade in the history. You might notice subtle changes in the front fascia, including trapezoid exhaust outlets and air inlets. This is it. A complete model refresh is in order.

In the past few months we’ve seen camouflaged A4 sedans concealing more important changes. But Kolesa.ru gave us some suggestions and fan renderings to help us envision the next A4. These renderings, based on spy photos, allow us to see what may be beneath the camouflage. Although it’s not a significant change, the new headlights can be clearly seen. The grille shrinks slightly as well. The rendering borrows from the existing air inlets, but it squares them up a little at the corners.

Similar subtlety is shown at the rear, with new taillights that are joined by chrome trim and extending across the length of the vehicle. Revisions to the lower fascia are also made, with the removal of the mini-diffuser as well as moving the red reflectors inward. However, the trapezoid exhaust remains.

2020 Audi A4 Facelift Could Be As Real As The Real Deal

As we don’t know what lies beneath that camo wrap, this is speculation. Although the designs look ready for production, they do not show the anticipated interior changes. Audi is expected to inject some A6 DNA into the current model A6 for a major makeover. This will replace the floating infotainment screen on the A4 for something in the dash. Powertrain options will remain the same as they are with the next model being a refresh, and not a new one.

Although these renderings give us a good idea of what to expect, we will likely need to wait a while before we can see how close they come to reality. Audi won’t reveal its refreshed A4 until at least the end of the year, so we don’t anticipate it.
