It doesn’t matter if it’s a diesel engine, but that doesn’t mean that tuners ignore the European S6.
Audi’s unveiling of the S6 earlier in the year took almost everyone by surprise. We were not expecting it to be there, but the Four Rings installed it underneath the European cars’ hoods. Instead of using a twin-turbo V8 4.0 liter gasoline engine as its predecessor, the for Old Continent has downsized and now uses a 3.0-liter V6 which uses a different fuel type – diesel.
This diesel is not your ordinary diesel. The TDI comes equipped with an electric-powered compressor, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and a 345 horsepower engine. It also produces a staggering 516 pound-feet (700 Newton meters) of torque. It is available in the following configurations: tuners ABT wanted to know if they could extract more diesel power. They ended up with 378 horsepower and 561 lbft (760 Nm), for this sinister-looking engine.Wagon.
This added punch has reduced the Avant’s sprint time to 62 mph (100 km/h) by two tenths. It now takes only 4.9 seconds. The time is even shorter if you choose the lighter sedan. The top speed is not known, but it will likely remain electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h). ABT offers the same power package as the Euro-spec S7 Sportback, which features the exact same engine.
The aftermarket experts based in Kempten replaced the stock wheels on the S6 Avant TDI with a set of 21-inch alloys in black. Audi offers the car with a set of 20-inch wheels, but customers who are willing to spend more can get larger wheels.
ABT is likely to soon have the new RS6 Avant, and the sleeker RS7. A twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 engine produces 591 horsepower and 590 lbft (800 Nm) of power. However, an electrified powertrain could provide even more power .
