This render shows the official 3 Series image and includes a variety of M goodies.
It’s no surprise that renders of future derivatives are flooding in after the debut of the BMW 3 Series Sedan this week at Paris Motor Show. The time is right to look into the future of the M3. Our spies have captured it multiple times, which could indicate that the range-topping version of the 3 Series will arrive sooner in its life cycle.
It’s easy to see the M340i and the regular 3 Series, both fitted with a variety of goodies from the MPerformance catalog. Now it’s easier to envision the M3 fully-fledged. The BMW sports sedan is shown in the following render. It’s equipped with M4 GTS-derived alloys wheels and a carbon fiber roof that features M colors.
This imaginary M3 looks great with blacked-out accents, carbon fiber touches, and a few other details. However, we’d like to make some changes around the gap between the wheels and the hubcaps. You can get a larger set of alloys and skinnier tires. A black tint for the rear windows will complete the look.
We expect the same thing from M3. It is due to the fact that the engines of the three models will share the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 engine. The new S58 unit is an evolution of the S55 unit. It will be around 450 horsepower in the standard configuration and can grow to 500 horsepower in higher tunings.
The M-badged SUVs, which will reveal the M3’s power, will give us an idea of the M3’s potential. The sedan’s launch is unlikely to happen before 2020.
