This crossover shouldn’t be a cause for anger.
It’s been a busy day for BMW. While the new 3 series was a big hit at the 2018 Paris Motor Show 2018, other models are still covered in camo wrap and deep in testing. The next X6M crossover is one of them. We’ve seen it before with its black body wrap, but it is just as sinister in this new batch of photos.
This test vehicle may be almost identical to the one we saw a few weeks back. It appears the wrap conceals the Kidney Grille’s full size and lower intakes from the front bumper in a similar fashion. The front lighting design has been modified, and the small round lamps are now gone. The rear lights are also different, but the camo on this vehicle shows a little more of the design. The lenses are smaller and have less reach across the rear gate.
The vertically oriented lenses at the back seem to have disappeared on the new X6. And, yes, you can’t miss the quad exhaust tips which tell us that this car is an M model. It should be a very powerful people-mover, with its massive brakes and wide tires. The 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 should produce at least 600 horsepower (447kW), which should provide enough power to propel this coupe-ish crossover into high-speed space.
Unfortunately, we still have a long wait. We expect to see the revamped standard-issue X6 next year. However, it hasn’t yet debuted. This means that it won’t arrive on the streets until late 2019 or early 2020, when the new ‘Bahn burner will be available.
