Bose Performance Series is a collection of 14 speakers, which is the most Bose has ever placed in a 2-seater. This should provide “the loudest and clearest” audio experience in a coupe cabin. Audio specialists explain that the change from a front-engine layout, to a mid-engine design, has altered the shape and size of the cabin. This has been a challenge for the Bose engineers. The company developed a unique system for the Corvette after a lengthy development process that required an “innovative, creative” approach.
“We knew from the beginning that we needed an audio system that would carefully balance the need to isolate the occupants in the rear engine compartment with live performance-like sound clarity,” Tadge Jechter, Corvette executive chief engineering, says. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray’s Bose system technology delivers this careful balance.
Bose’s Performance Series system includes 2.5-inch and 3.75-inch speakers on the instrument panel, 4-inch wide range speakers and 1-inch tweeters at each upper door panel. There are also a pair 5.25-inch wide range speakers and three additional Twiddler speakers at the back of the cabin. Each door has a 10-inch Bose Nd speaker.
Since 1984, Chevrolet has been working with Bose as the official audio partner.
