There is more to this place than you might realize.
Every new Ferrari model is big news in motoring, whether it’s an all-new hypercar or a modified version of an older model. The F8Tributo is more or less in that category. It’s a 488GTB with a new suit, but there are many other changes beyond minor aero tweaks and a power boost. The new F8 Tributo is a new model, much like the Bugatti divo. It has different body panels and pays homage to previous models such as the 308 GTB or the F40. It also boasts Ferrari’s most powerful street-going V8 ever built in a mainstream car, the 488Pista‘s staggering 720 horsepower output.

The overall shape of the F8 is very familiar. However, it is best to compare them side-by side to see how they have evolved from the 488. Let’s move on, with the F8 Tributo and the 488 on the left.
Front
Ferrari’s press release referred to the aero cues taken directly from the 488 Pista. The S-Duct, which was redesigned from that car and can be seen here, was one of these. Additional ducts are added at the corners by the new lower fascia. It’s also easy to see the newly sculpted hood. Ferrari claims that the aero changes made by the S-Duct alone increase the F8’s downforce by 15%.
Rear
Here are some of the retro touches Ferrari added to the F8. The F8’s original quad taillight arrangement is back with a new rear fascia. The louvered engine cover is a nod to the Ferrari F40.
Front Profile
You can see the original 488’s shape in the F8’s front profile view. The side windows, roofline, and mirrors match perfectly. So is the body sculpting of the side intakes. The 488 Pista intakes are more similar to the ones on the new lower rocker design.
Side
Although not an exact match from a side-on perspective, these photos show the differences in the side intakes, hood sculpting and updated spoiler. The black trim can be seen at the bottom of the F8’s windshield.
Interior
Although the interior has been updated, the basic design of the 488 is unchanged. This is a new dash that’s been molded to fit into the 488’s greenhouse. It also features round air con vents, an updated instrument housing and a remolded housing that eliminates the tachometer bump. It has been removed from the two-tone scheme, making it more subdued. You can be as subdued in a Ferrari with 720 horsepower as you want.
