2020 Hyundai Palisade Launches with Bold Design and 8 Seats [UPDATE]

Hyundai’s most technologically advanced SUV to date is the flagship SUV.

The Santa Fe new The new Hyundai Palisade, which was launched earlier in the year, is larger than its predecessor but Hyundai understands that there are many families who want something bigger. Enter Palisade. The new midsize SUV, which is larger than the Santa Fe XL, is also larger. It measures 196.1 inches in length, 77.8 inch wide, and 68.9 inch tall. The wheelbase is generous at a generous 4.5 inches. Nissan Pathfinder -Equivalent to 114.2 inches, or four inches more than the Santa Fe XL.

The beauty of styling is all about the eyes, but the Palisade is the best in this segment. Hyundai’s flagship SUV is closely related to Kia’s new Telluride. Hyundai adopts a bold front fascia design that looks very similar to the Santa Fe’s. It features a large, imposing grille and two-tier headlights.

You can see the sheer size of this vehicle when you examine its side profile, particularly the length of the rear doors as well as the large greenhouse. The Palisade’s powerful appearance is due to its massive wheel arches that can hold 20-inch wheels. The Hyundai SUV is a tall and heavy vehicle. However, the drag coefficient of Hyundai’s SUV is impressive at 0.33. This is due to aerodynamic tweaks like underside panels and rear wheel aero deflectors. A pair of LED taillights with sweptback taillights at the rear makes the Santa Fe stand out. The model’s name is prominently displayed on the tailgate, along with large characters.

Inside, the ample cabin can seat up to eight people on three rows, with the second one featuring ventilated captain’s chairs while the rearmost seats recline and feature power-folding/unfolding. The Palisade is ideal for large families with its total seven USB outlets and 16 (16!) You can also find all the technology Hyundai currently has, including cupholders. Wireless charging is available, as well as a touchscreen of 10.25 inches and a digital driver’s screen 12.3. There is also the option to connect two devices via Bluetooth simultaneously – one for audio streaming and the other for mobile phone connection.

Hyundai has packed a lot of technology into its largest SUV. We are only scratching the surface. There are shift-by-wire controls in the center console, head up display, intercom system and adaptive cruise control. Hyundai calls its roof vent diffuser design an “industry first”, stating that it creates a quieter, more uniform airflow from the rear air conditioner while allowing passengers to choose from a focused, partially-diffused, or fully-diffused stream.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade’s engine is a 3.8-liter V6 that produces 291 horsepower and 262 pounds-feet (355 Newton meters) of torque. It is available with either two- or four-wheel drive options and can be connected to an eight speed automatic transmission. The Hyundai HTRAC all-paw system features the standard driver-selectable Normal and Sport modes as well as Smart and Snow modes for slippery conditions.

The Palisade, a Korean-built vehicle, will be available in the United States during the summer 2019.
