2020 Hyundai Sonata Turbo Launches in Korea with 180 HP

Sonata Hybrid makes its debut as well.

Hyundai had promised that it would soon add a turbocharged version of the new generation Sonata to its lineup when it presented it early this month. The Sonata 1.6 Turbo is being revealed at the 2019 Seoul Motor Show.

The sporty’s hood sedan The turbo gasoline unit is a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline unit, with four cylinders. It has a peak power output of 180 horsepower (134kilowatts). It will come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. An optional eight-speed automatic will allow for a more efficient throttle response and enhance the Sonata’s smoothness.

Sonata Turbo will have several design elements that will make it stand out from the regular sedan’s eighth-generation version. Hyundai’s Parametric Jewel mesh grille is a new design. There are also air ducts under the headlights that channel air to reduce drag. You’ll also see a unique bumper and twin exhausts at the rear.

Hyundai has not yet released performance figures for the Sonata Turbo model. However, we expect to hear more information at the New York Auto Show this April.

The hybrid version of this new vehicle was also shown in photos taken at the Seoul Motor Show. Sonata (gallery below). We don’t know the engine of the car and unfortunately, we don’t have any technical information. Hyundai only explains that the Sonata Hybrid is equipped with a solar roof and can travel approximately 1,300 km per year, or 808 miles.

The Sonata Hybrid’s front end has a completely different design to the regular model, as we can see. The radiator grille has smaller horizontal chrome bars and the bumper has fewer air openings. There is also a smaller intake under the grille.
