2020 Jaguar XE Revealed with a New Face and Improved Interior

Mid-cycle facelifts are aggressive on the outside but gentle on the inside.

Jaguar unveiled its facelifted XE sedan today. The automaker describes the new look as “wider and lower” and adds a bit of aggression to the lineup. It also introduced thinner LED lights front and back, and a redesigned bumper at the rear. To better accommodate the Sedan’s new eyes, there are subtle modifications to the front bodywork. The new R-Dynamic dress comes with dark mesh details at rear and a new set of wheels.

The changes inside the refreshed XE are more obvious, but the overall layout remains familiar to existing XE owners. The most noticeable difference is in the center console. It now has the SportShift selector and JaguarDrive Control switch, both from the . The new steering wheel, digital dash, and Touch Pro Duo infotainment systems are higher up.

The upgraded cockpit features new materials and interior trim, which is a significant improvement over the old model. The rear view mirror may also look strange. It’s not a mirror. The XE uses ClearSight, a company-owned setup that incorporates a wide angle camera looking backwards, which then sends the information to the mirror. This ensures that the rear view is always clear.

The familiar powertrain options are still available underneath the refreshed body and interior, but there are fewer. The 2.0-liter engine produces 247 horsepower or 296 horsepower. For buyers across the pond, the entry-level XE offers a 180-hp diesel. Base-model XE sedans with S-trim come with more standard-issue kit including an automatic transmission, 18-inch wheels, leather seating, parking and lane-keep assistance, leather seats, LED lights, and an automatic transmission. Every trim level can get the R-Dynamic appearance package, which is available in all trim levels from SH to HSE. The supercharged V6 is currently unavailable.

The 2020 Jaguar XE can be ordered starting at PS33.915 in the UK.
