2020 Jeep Gladiator is Coming: Live Reveal Event

UPDATE: Although the livestream is now closed, you can still watch it here.

The Jeep pickup truck is nearly here, after what seemed like an endless stream of spy shots and rumors. The “Scrambler” was previously called the Jeep pickup truck. However, Jeep has now confirmed that the workhorse will be named Gladiator in its YouTube description. The company has yet to reveal the details of the Gladiator. However, it says it will have the best-in-class payload and towing.

Jeep also mentions that the 2020 Gladiator will be available “open-air freedom”, which you already know – the top can be removed just like the Wrangler model it is based on. The pickup will retain the Wrangler’s styling but will have subtle modifications such as an updated grille and a modified front bumper. While the rear end will be modified, the addition of a bed to the vehicle will not change the original design. The Gladiator will be an actual Wrangler with a bed.

The Wrangler’s engines, technology, and almost everything else will continue to be used, even the interior. It seems unlikely that Jeep has redesigned its cabin for the pickup. As well as all the off-road amenities you would expect from a Jeep, there will be removable doors. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine and Pentastar’s 3.6-liter V6 is a certainty. Reports indicate that a diesel or hybrid may also be on the horizon.

Many will recall that Jeep tried to make a Gladiator pickup in 2005, with a promising design that appeared almost ready to go to the assembly line. However, it never came to pass. Now, Jeep is set to remove the Gladiator truck from your hands at a dealer next spring.
