Ford Bronco Pickup Supposedly Coming To Take on Jeep Gladiator
It seems like a Ranger who is more rugged.
Rumors suggest that the Ford Bronco will get a pickup version. This is strange considering the model uses the same underpinnings as the Ranger truck. According to the Blue Oval, this Bronco variant will go into production in July 2024. Automobile reported the development of this model using information from industry research company AutoForecast Solutions.
According to rumors, the Bronco pickup would have a four-door body and a small bed at the back. The standard Bronco has removable roof panels so this truck version will likely have them. Open-air driving would make Ford even more competitive against the Jeep Gladiator which offers similar topless motoring capabilities.
According to Ford’s Wayne, Michigan factory, the standard Bronco will debut in mid-2020. Production is expected to begin in January 2021. The Ranger pickup should be powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged four cylinder that produces 270 horsepower (201 milliwatts) and 315 pound-feet (442 Newton-meters), through a 10-speed auto. It appears that a hybrid model has already been developed, according to spy shots and CEO Jim Hackett.
Rumours also suggest that a vehicle similar to the Bronco Raptor could be built. According to current speculation, the model will either use a turbocharged V6 of 2.7-liters or a naturally aspirated 8-liter V8.
Ford could offer any of these powertrains in the pickup Bronco because of their structural similarities. But don’t be surprised if Ford doesn’t announce its plans for the truck anytime soon.
