You may like a crossover variant.
Automotive designers are adapting car-like design principles to larger vehicles, such as SUVs and crossovers, to appeal to the growing market for SUVs and other SUVs. Crossover coupes are a recent trend. They are a four-door, high riding vehicle with a sloped rear roofline. This gives it the appearance of a more sporty personality. It’s not a coupe at all, but it is a way for carmakers and manufacturers to differentiate their products from others without introducing a new model. Although it’s unlikely that Kia will follow this route for its refreshed 2020 Sportsage, we have a glimpse at the possibility thanks to Kolesa.ru.
This rendering shows a bright, blue color Kia Sportage. The front is unchanged. It is a non-coupe Sportage. The roof starts to slope halfway through the vehicle. The Sportage’s rear passenger window has been narrowed to accommodate the steeply sloping roof. It now features a slight kick up that adds sportiness to its appearance. The hatch is the most important design change. It’s much more raked in the rendering than the Sportage. This helps to complete the coupe-like appearance without having to take out the rear passenger doors.
This rendering shows the Kia Sportage coupe doing its best Mercedes GLC Coupe impression. It gives the affordable Kia an appearance that is far more expensive than its price tag. Since 2013, Kia Sportage sales have increased steadily, with a slight dip in 2017, but then rebounded the next year. This was before the redesign was released earlier this spring. 2019 sales are expected to be strong. Although a coupe version is unlikely to be in the plans for the Kia Sportage, it could boost sales. Similar efforts are being made by other automakers. It’s not a good excuse to invest in expensive ventures.
