The gargantuan spindle-grille has a new look.
[UPDATE] A full gallery is attached below.
Since the launch of the BMW X7, people have complained about its size. However, let’s not forget that Lexus’ spindle grilles have grown in size over the years. The GX is a corporate logo since its debut. For the 2014 model year, the nip-and-tuck was done. Toyota’s premium marque will refresh the luxobarge rather than introduce a new, third-generation model.
Although the grille isn’t larger than it was before, the new pattern makes it look bigger and emphasizes the size of the web-like pattern with a multitude of “L” motifs. Lexus claims that these changes were made to align the 2020 GX with other products. This is why the LED headlights have a modern appearance.
We have one image of the GX at the moment, but we know that the GX will come with an optional Sport Design package for Premium or Luxury trims. This includes a more aggressive body and 19-inch wheels in gunmetal metallic. The package also includes a custom lower front grille surround and side mirror caps. There is also a black exhaust tip finish, scarlet taillights, and an optional lower front grille surround.
An Off-Road package is available for the Luxury trim. Lexus will give you lots of cameras, a fuel pump protector, transmission cooler, as well as Multi-Terrain Select if you spend more. This allows you to customize your driving experience depending on what surface you are driving on. Craw Control is a great option for low speed off-roading. It maintains a steady speed even when the SUV’s transmission is at low range.

Lexus will continue to sell its luxury SUV with a 4.6-liter V8 that produces 301 horsepower and 329 pound feet (446 Newton-meters). The output is sent to the four-wheel drive system via a six speed sequential-shift automatic transmission with a Torsen-limited-slip differential. A two-speed transfer box is also installed for off-road performance.
The 2020 model year will see the Lexus Safety System+ added to the GX. This means that even the base version of the GX has lane departure alert and pre-collision system for pedestrian protection. Tech-wise, the GX now has two additional USB ports at the back. This brings the total to four.
There is no word on when or how much it will cost. However, the 2019 Lexus GX was priced at $52,505.
