The debut of the compact wagon could be just days away.
America, look away! This is not a Mercedes-Benz USA car. We’re glad that the three-pointed star has approved a second generation wagon of its sleek model, even though it will not be a global model. Our Kolesa.ru friends have shared their vision of the new CLA Shooting Brake in advance of its possible debut at Geneva Motor Show.
We believe these images could be official photos since the real deal will closely resemble our speculative CLA Shooting Brake, which was created using foundation press images from the standard CLA. They took their inspiration from the 250 Orange Art Line variant. However, they have replaced the orange accents by white ones to give it a more traditional look.
Mercedes will have no need to worry about competitors since the CLA Shooting Brake won’t have a direct rival, at least in the premium segment. For those who don’t care about badges but still want a stylish wagon without breaking the bank, a fully loaded Kia Proceed GT might be a good alternative.
Mercedes is eager to AMG everything, so there’s a good chance that we will see a CLA35 Shooting Brake with just over 300 horsepower. The CLA 45 S will have more than 400 horsepower. This is in addition to the S45 S which has 416 hp.
The fancy Mercedes compact wagon should make its debut in Switzerland on March 5, where it will likely share the spotlight with A45. We are not certain that the two Mercedes compact wagons will be on display at the Swiss show, as Daimler hasn’t yet confirmed their arrival in Geneva.
