The GLE Coupe, much like the BMW X6, is ready for its next generation.
The new Mercedes GLE Coupe has been seen in spy videos. However, the prototypes were captured from far away so the footage was zoomed in which had a negative effect on the quality. Our spy sent us images of a test vehicle that they saw on the streets of Germany. They also covered the production body with camouflage patterns we are all familiar with.
The GLE Coupe’s front fascia is strikingly similar to the next-gen GLE. However, the differences between the models are beginning to be apparent aft of the B pillars. The next Mercedes’ big coupe/SUV will have a sportier exterior design. However, the most noticeable modifications have been made at the rear.
The GLE Coupe’s taillights have a new design and are sleeker. It is possible that the ducktail spoiler may be sticking out more on this model than it does on the current one. The bumper seems to have a pseudo diffuser, flanked by two large exhaust tips with a new design.
Although we aren’t big fans of coupe-styled SUVs we have to admit that the GLE Coupe looks a lot better today than the current model. We’re eager to see the full version without the distracting disguise. We would still choose the regular version due to its lower cost, better functionality, and more normal shape.
As we have said before, the interior cabin of the Coupe isn’t much of a mystery as it will largely be carried over from the noncoupe model. We were able to see the inside last week, as shown below.
According to Logic, the GLE will debut first, possibly before the end or early 2019. Its more expensive sibling, the BMW X6 next-generation, is expected to make its debut sometime next year.
