It breaks the record set by its predecessor, as expected.

Eight minutes, twenty-three seconds – That’s the record the 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP set at the Nordschleife of the dreaded Nürnbergring. This record was set seven years ago and beat its predecessor by 19 seconds.

This is about to change, however, with the emergence and introduction of the John Cooper Works GP at 24 Hours Nurburgring’s pre-race program. According to Mini The JCW GP’s newest version has clocked the loop in less than eight minutes. However, the brand’s press release does not mention that the testing program has yet to be completed.

To demonstrate its new track-focused model, the JCW GP ran at the Green Hell with the new JCW GP. It was seen earlier this year racing within the Ring while wearing the same “race track camouflage”. We could probably say it had an advantage in conquering Nurburgring.

The new JCW hood houses a turbocharged four cylinder engine that produces 295 horsepower (220 KiloWatts). It is also equipped with large open air intakes, large alloy wheels, distinctive front- and rear apron designs, as well as a roof spoiler.

Mini’s new JCW GP is being presented to the public for the first time, although it’s still hidden. This was done during the 24-hour Nurburgring weekend.

The 2020 Mini JCW GP, like its predecessors will be produced in limited numbers. Mini claims that only 3,000 units of the total production run will be sold. In 2020, the production version of this hot hatch will go on sale.
