The compact crossover, which is quite curious, should be available before the end the year.
Our spy team spotted a prototype Nissan Juke wearing a thick camouflage coat while it was being tested in southern Europe just a few days back. The Juke has returned to the area and the large black cloak has been replaced by a camo wrap. These shots, while not all-revealing at all, give us a much better view of the Juke’s new features.
The crossover’s unique styling will be preserved in this stripped-down version. Although they look like headlights to casual observers, the large round driving lamps can be easily identified. Although they are mounted slightly lower, the actual headlights are higher up and have an angular shape. It’s possible that the Juke’s new grille could borrow styling cues form the Nissan Leaf The new model would probably include the headlights in order to make it a little more proportional than the current one.
We don’t want to get too involved in the design details as we suspect that there may be false body panels underneath the camo wrap. Although the roof and fenders have different shapes and additional bulk, we still have enough visibility to see that the Juke will continue to be the same shape as the previous-generation. The new Juke will share its CMF-B foundations with the Renault Clio V. Hybrid and fully electric models are possible, aside from an assortment of internal combustion engines.
The new Juke will be available with small turbocharged three-cylinder engines and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This is the immediate future. Our sources tell us that a release is likely later in the year. A candidate is the September Frankfurt Motor Show.
