Expect range-topping version to have 671 horsepower

It appears that Porsche will not be able resist the coupe-SUV temptation. The current-generation Cayenne will allow to have its own version. The company’s new SUV body was seen only days ago. A different prototype, after having a drink, captured the vehicle as it sat at a gas station.

The Cayenne Coupe looks unassuming at first glance. But, if you look closely, you’ll see that there is a lot of black tape on the front bumper. Because the Cayenne Coupe has a steeper roofline than the standard SUV, the rear will see the most changes.

Although the taillights look ungainly, stickers have been applied to the actual clusters. Porsche has created a roof-mounted spoiler to fit the Cayenne Coupe. We also noticed what appears to be a subtle lip on the tailgate that sets it apart from the regular model.

The interior is pretty standard, considering that the prototype used the exact same cabin as the donor car. This is not surprising when you consider the Mercedes GLE / GLE Coupe and BMW X5 / X6 models. The interior of the Cayenne Coupe will likely be modified in small ways, but it will almost be the same.

The shape of the quad exhaust tips suggests that this is a prototype for the Turbo version. Porsche already plans to give its SUV the turbo S E-Hybrid treatment with most likely 671 horsepower. We don’t see any reason why the Cayenne Coupe should not also get this performance-oriented electrified version.

Expect the Cayenne Coupe regular version to launch before the end the decade. Hotter derivatives will arrive later.
