2020 SEAT Leon rendering sees into the future

The brand’s first hybrid model, the new Leon, will be able to pilot SEAT’s electrified push. Although it won’t be setting new standards, the vehicle will be able travel 31 miles (50 km) using only electric energy before the ICE kicks into effect. Although it isn’t a huge number in the industry this should be sufficient for most drivers, as the Leon is primarily a city vehicle.

SEAT will sell the hatchback with traditional gasoline or diesel engines. They should all be turbocharged, and meet the strictest emission standards in Europe.

SEAT will preview next year’s Leon with a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. The production version should be available later in the year, possibly at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It is unlikely that the Spanish automaker will sell it as a three door hatch because demand is low for such vehicles. However, some reports suggest that a Leon-based crossover might be in the future.
