New safety equipment is added to the Impreza.
Subaru keeps the Impreza fresh with a minor upgrade for the 2020 model year. The new model was first shown in Japan by the automaker. It features new safety features and exterior styling. Subaru has not yet mentioned any interior changes but the photos show that the interior is unchanged from the current model. Subaru didn’t provide any details about the sportier Impreza WRX. The 2020 Subaru Impreza will be available in the U.S. this fall. Pre-orders are currently open.
The front is the most important stylistic update. Subaru updated the grille and lower front fascia, as well as the headlights. New wheel designs are also available for the 2020 Impreza. Subaru will offer the Impreza in a sedan or 5-door hatchback. All that is great, but the Impreza 2020’s best offerings will be inside.
Subaru will offer Eyesight Touring Assist on all Impreza models. Eyesight Touring Assist is designed to help reduce driver fatigue and accidents by helping with acceleration, braking and steering. The system can also identify vehicles and lane markings. Other features include adaptive headlights and front view cameras, driver’s seat memory function, and driver’s position memory function.
The 2020 Impreza will have a reverse interlocking mirror on the doors that will turn to face down when the car is in reverse. This makes it easier to maneuver. Mirrors will be equipped with a memory function and automatic storage depending on whether the car has been locked or unlocked.
The wheel sizes vary from 16 to 18 inches. A 1.6-liter or 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine powers the front or all of the four wheels. Customers in the United States will get similar features and options on the 2020 Subaru Impreza.
Subaru has not yet announced pricing information for 2020 Impreza. However, customers can expect a slight price increase considering the safety features. The 2019 Subaru sedan is priced at $19480, while the hatch is priced at $19980. The $885 delivery and destination charges are included in both prices. Subaru may soon release information on an updated WRX.
