The entry-level models are almost the same price this year as last year.

Subaru unveiled its new Legacy, Outback models in February. The automaker’s all wheel-drive sedan was featured at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2019. It was followed by the Outback with a long roof at the New York Auto Show a few months later. We now have pricing information for these outdoor-oriented family machines as 2020 model year models are available at dealerships. It’s surprising low. The Legacy starts at $22,745, while the Outback starts at $26,645. This is a $200 increase for the Legacy and an Outback, respectively.

Standard equipment includes LED lights and a touchscreen of 7 inches with various features, including Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both rides are powered by the same 2.5-liter boxer four pot that produces 182 horsepower (136kilowatts). The CVT transmits power to all four wheels via an eight-speed manual shift mode and an automatic start-stop system.

Prices can rise significantly from there. The Legacy Touring XT is a range-topping model that starts at $35,895. It features Nappa leather, navigation, additional driver assistance systems, and a 11.6-inch infotainment display. The 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine has been replaced by a 260-hp (194kW) 2.4-liter turbocharged four.

The Outback Touring XT also has similar upgrades, but the price is $39,695 more. The price of the Outback Touring XT jumps to $40,000.
