2020 Volkswagen Caddy Teaser Shows Off Stylish, Little Van

There will be versions that can haul people and cargo.

The Volkswagen Caddy compact van fits in Europe’s A-segment. And the fifth generation is already on the way. Two teaser images show what the tiny carry-all will look like , which is quite different from the previous. The new model will be available in February, and may go on sale in certain markets by the end of this year.

Teaser images show the Caddy with a large inlet in its lower fascia and an even smaller one above it. The trim also makes the headlights seem to extend across the vehicle’s front. Although the images don’t show the rear, it is clear that the taillights rise vertically to the rear. The panoramic sunroof provides more light into the cabin, even though it is barely visible.

It will be available in two versions: the Caddy standard, which is a small van that can carry people, and the Caddy Cargo which is for transporting goods. The buyer can choose between two lengths of wheelbase.

VW claims that “no screw was left unturned” in the development of the Caddy. VW plans to offer the van with new driver assist systems. The model can be connected to the Internet from the inside.

Caddy is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. This should allow for a wide range of powertrain options. The Caddy is not expected to be sold in the United States, just like the current model. The German brand is not a major player on the American commercial vehicle market.
