Are retro designs still cool?
The eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf will be unveiled , and will go on sale in Europe before the end. The new VW hatch has been covered from the very first spy photos to the most recent teasers. The next-gen VW Golf will be very similar to the Mk VII model, whether it is better or worse. Each generation of the Golf has been improved by the design. This can seem a little boring. But thanks to the new renderings by Kolesa.ru we now have an Mk VIII Golf that has a lot more pizzazz.
Officially Unveiled: VW Golf 8
Some automakers look back at their design history in order to reinvent the past. Volkswagen looks forward and refines the Golf’s design without affecting its success. VW has sold over 35 million Golfs in seven generations. The company doesn’t want to ruin this formula. The Kolesa.ru rendering gives the Golf a quirky personality.
Kolesa.ru opted for the sleek, swept-back front end design of the Mk VII, updated for a new generation. Instead, Kolesa.ru used the round headlights, upright front-end design and the Golf Mk II’s original 1983 debut and grafted them onto the front. It is a modern, sleek design that somehow works. It has the same broad lower grille with intakes pushing to the corners that we have seen on many prototypes. However, the round headlights and circular VW logo look clean.
Unfortunately, this rendering doesn’t reflect the final product that we will see when the eighth-generation Golf arrives later in the year. The next-generation Golf will not be retro in its exterior design. The selection of Golf models in the United States could be limited. Rumours say we’ll have a limited selection of Golf models in the United States.
