2021 Acura Base Pricing Revealed for TLX, Its Much More Than Last Year
The Type S model, which is sporty and expensive, is yet to be priced.

Acura has unveiled its second-generation TLXsedan. It doesn’t look very different from the previous model but it’s a powerful machine under the skin and in the cockpit. These updates are not free, but they come with a cost. In this case, we mean it literally. The 2021 TLX is $37,500, not including $1,025. Destination fees are included. This is $4,500 less than the base TLX.

Acura enthusiasts excited about the new sedan might find this difficult to swallow. But, we need some context. The new entry-level TLX has a lot more power than the old 2.4-liter. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine replaces the 2.4-liter. It has 272 horsepower (203 kilowatts) and is nearly as powerful and efficient as the TLX V6. The 2.4-liter four pot generated just 206 horsepower (154 kW) to power the front wheels.

Acura wants to remind you that the 2021 TLX2.0T costs $1,300 less than the TLX V6. This is a more comparable comparison, and a smaller margin. However, it’s still a substantial year-over-year rise to get into the TLX. All-wheel drive increases the price to $39500. A TLX with SH-AWD setup, Advance Package and a TLX costs $48,300.

The TLX type S V6 model is also available. The outgoing 3.5-liter engine is being replaced by a turbocharged 3.0-liter unit, which produces 355 horsepower (265 kW) This is a significant power increase over yesterday’s six-pot model TLX. However, Acura isn’t ready to discuss the price yet. Acura has included the SH-AWD system, 20-inch wheels and a base price of $50,000.

Acura still has time to determine the TLX Type S price. The 2.0T version of the model will be available in dealerships by September.
