It will cost significantly more than regular TLX.

Acura will finally offer the sporty TLX Type S in 2021. The automaker also confirmed that the sedan would be available at dealers in May. After a 13-year absence in the United States, the storied performance nameplate will be back.

Acura has not yet revealed the final pricing for the model. However, it states that the Manufacturer’s Suggested retail price (MSRP), will be “inthe low $50,000s.” While we wait to see all pricing information, we can already notice that the Type S model will be substantially more costly than the 2021 TX 2.0T which starts at $37,000.
2021 Acura Type S TLX Type S On Sale in May with 355 HPWe do know that the TLX TypeS has a powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged, turbocharged V6 engine. It produces 355 horsepower (265 kilowatts), and 354 pound feet (480 Newton-meters), of torque. This makes the sedan the most powerful Type S model ever built by the Japanese premium brand. The TLX Type S AWD model is also the first to feature “true” torque vectoring.

The performance model has other modifications than the regular TLX, including a double-wishbone front suspension as well as the model-exclusive Sport+ driving modes. A 10-speed automatic gearbox routes the power from the engine to the wheels.

The sports sedan will be available with the Tiger Eye Pearl paint, Orchid leather interior combination. The most powerful Type S ever built will be standard equipped with 16-way power seat with adjustable side bolstering and a premium 17-speaker audio system.

Acura will reveal pricing and specifications details for the 2021 TLX Type X model closer to its May on-sale date.
