Although there isn’t much camo, it’s still a minor update.
Audi has been busy re-designing its entire vehicle portfolio. The automaker plans to launch a new lineup of models and facelifts in the coming years. Although the current Q5 has just debuted for 2018, the update is planned. However, as the camouflaged front- and rear areas indicate, it will not be major.
The Q5 will receive an Audi grille with a wider width. Although the grille looks more rectangular due to the small changes, it still provides ample space for the SUV’s front. The facelift includes new headlights, a redesign of the fascia, and possibly new fenders. Similar treatment is done at the back with new taillights. Although our eyes do not see any differences in rear fascia, it is possible to rework exhaust outlets. You might find a little more flair in the rear quarter panels.
Although the greenhouse won’t change from the Q5, we have heard that the dash-mounted touchscreen may grow to 10.1 inches. Larger displays are definitely a trend. By keeping the screen above the dash, you can make changes without having to redesign the entire system. You can also update the MMI infotainment software and make color or trim changes. You can keep your existing engine and powertrain configurations.
The mid-sized SUV market is undoubtedly the most competitive in all of automotive. This is why most automakers update their models almost daily. With only two model years, the current Q5 is not old. However, we expect this model to make its debut in 2020.
