2021 Audi S3 Impressive in Acceleration and Top Speed Tests

We believe it could easily sail past 155 mph without a speed regulator.

The newly revealed 2021 Audi S3 Sportback has been banned in the United States. It’s too bad because the S3’s 306-horsepower (228 kilowatts) turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged engine makes it a powerful five-door hatch. Automann-TV has posted a video on YouTube that confirms this. It shows the Audi’s acceleration performance at both a standstill speed and 100 km/h (62 mph) rolling speed. Audi claimed that the S3 could go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h), in a time of just 4.8 seconds. This is the first video test. The launch control was set up on a racetrack to ensure a perfect run. Although automakers can exaggerate performance statistics, in this case, the published time was not exceeded. The exact same test time was returned by the testers at 4.8 seconds. Bravo Audi.

The testing then moved onto unrestricted sections on the German autobahn, where it was possible to run rolling runs at speeds of 62 mph – 124 mph (100km/h – 200 km/h). Although there wasn’t an official benchmark from any automaker, the S3 was able to return a time of 11.8 seconds after some sprints. It was noticeably faster than the previous-generation VW Golf R despite having a slight power advantage. The driver could not resist pulling against the S3’s factory limit speed of 155 mph (253 km/h). With the speedo still climbing with gusto at this point, we believe it could go much higher with the limiter removed.

The S3 hatchback will not arrive in the United States, but there are some good news for Americans looking for a new S3 experience. Audi has just confirmed that the S3 sedan will be available for purchase as a 2022 model. The car will have the same powertrain as the Sportback and all-wheel drive grip, but there will be some waiting before it arrives on the market. It’s expected to arrive in dealerships late in 2022 , as a model from 2022.
