The supercar of sedans is getting a facelift.

Although we were able to drive the HTML5 facelifted car, the vehicle was still disguised at the rear and front to conceal the changes. Kolesa, our friends, attempted to get rid off the mask and provided an unofficial preview.

The 2021 5Series Sedan was their inspiration. It is a very similar design to the M5 and M550i specifications. The most notable changes to the M550i will be the sharper-looking headlights and the larger grille. While the kidneys will not grow as large as on the new 4 Series model, they will give the front fascia an even bolder appearance.

The exterior changes will include subtle modifications to the bumpers as well as new taillight graphics. The most notable change on the interior will be the addition of a larger touchscreen to the infotainment system. It has grown from a 10.3 inch diagonal to a 12.3 inch. BMW will likely make minor adjustments to the trim and upholstery, but the interior will be essentially unchanged.

We learned that the twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V8 will still produce 600 horsepower in the base model M5 and 617 horsepower in the Competition model. The M5CS is still unknown, but it will likely arrive in a special limited-run edition. It may include additional power or other upgrades.

The 2021 BMW M5 will get a new set shocks to improve the suspension. The mid-cycle update will also include the borrowing of the electrical system from the supercar.

The official premiere will take place on Friday, June 17, at 11:30 a.m.
