It looks similar to the grille on the Cadillac XT4 or CT5.
For months, we have been seeing camouflaged-clad Cadillac Escalade SUVs. The same drab cladding had been used to hide the design. New spy photos show a little more of the large roadboat – the grille. The grille was covered in test mules’ previous tests, but it is now exposed in this new round of spy photos.
Because the Escalade is already large, the grille appears to take up most of the SUV’s front. The black cover is visible against the bodywork. The grille appears to extend towards the headlights by several inches, but it is still covered. The grille design is similar to the Cadillac XT4, and Cadillac CT5. The larger grille will give the Cadillac sufficient road presence to compete with the rest of the segment.
The complete redesign will likely include a revamp of powertrains. The 6.2-liter V8 will be available as an entry-level engine. However, rumors suggest that a hybrid model may return. Cadillac’s twin-turbocharged, 4.2-liter Blackwing engine could also be available in the top trim.
The next-gen Escalade will feature a lot of technology. Cadillac’s Super Cruise hands free cruise control system will be available. This partially self-driving system controls the vehicle while the driver is on the road. The Cadillac was also photographed with an enormous infotainment screen. However, it is unclear if these photos were taken of a GMC Yukon interior.
The Cadillac Escalade requires a redesign inside and outside. Lincoln has had great success in reestablishing itself as a luxury brand, while other luxury automakers redesign, refresh and unveil large, three-row SUVs to attract customers. A 2021 Cadillac Escalade unveiling will take place sometime in the next year.
