For those who want debossed branding on their Colorado,
For the model year 2021, the Chevrolet Colorado will get a mid-cycle refresh. The midsize pickup gets a new look and some other cosmetic updates. Current Colorado owners may want to add a prominent rear change for their trucks.
The American marque dropped its Golden Bow Tie emblem in favor of a debossed “CHEVROLET” branding on the tailgate for the 2021 Colorado. This simple, yet effective addition further emphasizes the brand’s image when viewed from behind.
GM Authority recognized that question and asked Chevrolet if Colorado residents can order a new tailgate for 2015. The answer was yes.
“If the owner a 2015-2020 Chevrolet Colorado wants the new stamped 2021 tailgate, they should have the ability to work with their local Chevrolet Service Center to order it as a replacement,” stated Chris Bonelli of Chevrolet communications in an exclusive interview with GM Authority.
This comes with a caveat. The new tailgate is not available for purchase by those interested, as it is not listed in the certified accessories section. The dealer must order the part, as Bonelli confirmed with GM Authority.
However, the price of the replacement tailgate was not disclosed. GM Authority believes it will be similar to the non-debossed tailgates. This ranges between $545 and $608.67 depending on whether the EZ Lift or Lower features are present.
The pricing for the 2021 Colorado has not yet been released, however previous reports indicate that the new extended-cab work truck starts at $26,395. The Base Extended Cab entry-level trim is no longer available. Production of the new Colorado is expected to begin by June.
