Equinox RS features dark accents, a quad exhaust system and a 4-speed transmission.
The updated Equinox was first glimpsed by us in January, when photos of Chevy’s compact crossover appeared on the internet. Those photos showed the CN-spec model. It is not surprising that the North American model appears almost identical in the photos released by the company today with the 2021MY.
The styling changes are subtle and not noticeable. However, the headlights have undergone a significant overhaul and are now divided into two. The Equinox has a new grille that extends along the sides of its front fascia and intersects the headlights. It gives it a very interesting look. Chevy has made minor changes to the taillight graphics at the rear, but that’s it.
The Premier trim is the most expensive. This version comes with a glossy black grille and chrome inserts. New 19-inch alloy wheels are available, as well as different stitching inside the center console which has a glossy black finish. Chevy claims that the 2021 Equinox will come with a logo projection liftgate. However, it’s unlikely that people will rush to buy Equinoxes.
The SUV that Chevy is the best-selling SUV , and GM’s second-best-selling SUV, will be available for purchase this fall. There will also be greater accessibility to safety systems across all trim levels. The 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged engine versions will continue to be available, as well as a six-speed auto transmission and a nine speed for the latter. Customers will be able to choose from either front- or all-wheel drive, just as before.
The Equinox RS price is unknown. However, it will be priced between the Premier and LT for the 2019MY.
