The 2021 Ford Bronco has been a great sight today. Seeing it attempt the Rubicon Trail, and showing off Trail Turn Assist cornering features. You can now see the results of a hard day’s rock crawling. These photos were originally posted on the Forum. Motor1.com granted permission to republish them.
The SUVs were left trail with cosmetic damage. The body is covered in dents and scratches. These photos show the Bronco closest to the camera with its front bumper cap removed. The section is visible to be damaged on the two other Broncos.
The skid plate is visible in one shot, but the entire piece has many scrapes. This is a good thing. We can assume that there are no cracks in the panel and no damage to the critical mechanical parts it protects.
Ford may be considering what this information might be used for. The Bronco won’t be available for purchase until spring 2021 so there may still be some time to modify certain components. The company might also be working on tougher off-road components.
Not to be forgotten is that most Bronco buyers will never take their SUV on a challenging course like the Rubicon Trail. Ford engineers should ensure that the vehicle can perform there so that off-road tasks will be easier.
Ford already has high demand for the new Bronco, with 230,000 reservations and counting. If all these people convert it into an actual purchase, it will take approximately 18 months for all requests to be fulfilled.
