The Coyote 5.0-liter V8 is apparently gone.
You can get discounts up to $6500 this Monat, so now is the time to visit your local Ford dealer to place an order for the F-150. The fourteenth generation of this workhorse will arrive in 2021, with some significant changes.
We have already seen spy photos of a Fully electric prototype While the F-150 is currently being tested, it will also be receiving some upgrades. According to the people at Ford Authority The Blue Oval will be retiring the 5.0-liter Coyote v8 in order to make way for a smaller, 4.8-liter unit that is connected to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
Although it doesn’t yet have a name, there are some interesting output figures that we can rely upon. The Coyote has 395 horsepower and 400 pound feet (542 Newton-meters), but the new naturally-aspirated mill will pack a confirmed 420 HP and 420 Lb-ft (569Nm).
The 4.8-liter V8 will produce 25 horsepower and 20 lbft (27 Nm) more power. It is also said to be more efficient than the 5.0-liter unit. This engine can return up to 23 mpg on the highway, 17 in the city, and 19 combined in the rear-wheel drive F150s. The increased power and fuel economy might encourage more customers to choose the larger engine. This is because the Coyote has been less popular lately due to Ford having to reduce production at its Essex engine plant in Ontario.
Ford may not have finished updating the F-150 until the next-gen truck arrives. A hot Tremor derivative might be in the works. It could slot between the FX4 On-Road Package or the all-conquering Raptor.
